Mountain Log Home Remodel & Addition

Mountain Village, Telluride, Colorado

113 Autumn Lane – Notably the Castlewood Home has been enjoyed by movie stars, world class athletes and CEO’s as a high end rental property.  With the experience of attention to detail, Gerald Ross Architects are the architects of record.   Ultimately, this was an interior, exterior renovation and addition of this rustic mountain log home.

Above all, the remodel and addition of square footage was and is to be reminiscent of the late rustic style of the 1800’s.  As a result, it was especially modeled after the Great American Lodges of yesteryear.  To clarify, all surfaces were improved to fit this time period including the interior and exterior furnishings.  In addition, we designed the new square footage below the existing structure.  Notably this includes a world class period theater with state of the art technology.  Also added were a tremendous wine cellar, a large game room and support facilities.  With this in mind, this was no easy feat as the structure is somewhat old.  Truly you would never suspect these are new spaces due to the time period finishes.

Moreover the windows in the living room were replaced to provide fantastic views of the Telluride area mountains.  Another key point, was a new commercial elevator that provides easy access to the 3 levels.  Equally important, this new elevator was done in rustic, period architecture.  Markedly the large decks were updated to enjoy the views and to contribute to a relaxing atmosphere.  A fire pit was added for the cool nights and party events.  Especially important are the refreshed master bedroom and master suites with revived private bathrooms.  Further added to the master baths were steam showers and soaking tubs.  While the tepee room for the kids keeps them occupied and entertained.
